About Our Milk:

Where can I find Autumnwood Farm milk?

Autumnwood Farm's milk is delivered around the Twin Cities metro area. Check out this list where you can find TASTY milk today.

Do you sell raw milk?

We do not sell raw milk. All of our milk, here at Autumnwood Farm, is pasteurized with low-temperature vat pasteurization. Selling raw milk in the state of Minnesota is illegal.

Creamline milk is whole milk that is not homogenized. When sitting in the refrigerator, the cream will separate and rise to the top of the milk over time. Below the cream will be skim milk. Give your creamline milk a good shake before pouring into your glass and enjoy!

What is homogenization?

Homogenization is when the natural fat in the milk is mechanically emulsified (broken up) so the cream will no longer separate from the skim.

Does our milk contain Vitamin D?

Yes, all milk naturally contains the fat soluble vitamins A, D, E, and K. These vitamins are attached to fat globules in the milk. When you lower the fat content in the milk, you lower the amount of vitamins in it as well. We fortify any of our milk that contains skim milk with the vitamins missing, due to the lower fat content.

Where does our milk come from?

All of the milk pasteurized at Autumnwood Farm starts from the Daninger Family's cows which are located right next to the creamery and on-farm store. Milk is sent to the creamery when it is time to process and bottle. It is then sold at our on-farm store or delivered around the Twin Cities metro area. The cows, farm, and creamery teams work hard to provide you with TASTY milk!

What is the shelf life of our milk?

The "best by" date you see on each of our caps gives you an idea of how long the quality of our milk will last. This can vary, but that date is around 19 days away from when it was bottled. Storing milk at a lower temperatures, avoiding direct sunlight and limiting oxygen in the bottle are the best ways to extend the shelf life. Oxygen is what causes the milk fat to oxidate and go sour.  We recommend to always perform the the sniff test to ensure that your milk is still TASTY.

Does your milk contain the A2A2 protien?

Cows have genes that pre-determine what kind of protein they will create in their milk. One of the genes comes from the sire (bull) and the other from the cow. The daughters will then create each copy of whatever gene they got. (A1A1, A1A2, or A2A2) Over the past 5+ years we have been selecting bulls that are A2A2, meaning they only pass on the A2 gene to their daughters. When consumed, the A2 milk protein does not irritate the gastrointestinal system like the A1 protein can. Some people have even found that they were not lactose intolerant, but A1 protein intolerant.

Where can I find the ingredient list of your products?

Ingredients in each of our products can be found on their corresponding cap. If you only see "contains milk" that means nothing has been added.

What is low-temperature pasteurization? Why do you use it?

Low-temperature vat pasteurization is when raw milk from our cows is put into a 250 gallon vat, heated up to at least 145 degrees and held for a minimum of 30 minutes. Following pasteurization, milk is then homogenized and cooled to 45 degrees before being bottled. We do offer Creamline whole milk and whipping cream that are non-homogenized.

 

Maintaining the quality and natural creamy flavors within the milk our cows produce has been vital since we began. Low-temperature pasteurization helps us do this because it does not alter the digestibility of the proteins naturally found in milk. All of our products then fill glass bottles that seal in the freshness and keep our milk fresh until you are ready to taste.

Would you like the caps returned as well?

No, unfortunately we are unable to reuse the caps on our milk products. Please throw them away before returning your bottles.

Why glass bottles?

Sustainability is important in any industry, including agriculture. Our glass bottles allow us to eliminate single-use plastic bottles and create a bottle that is reusable and limits our environmental impact. Flavor, vitamins, and minerals are also preserved longer in a glass bottle because it does not allow for leaching to happen, unlike plastic. Finally, when you take our milk out of the fridge for dinner, the glass will keep your TASTY milk crisp and refreshing throughout the meal.

What is your return policy on the bottles?

Clean pint, quart, and half gallon bottle returns are  accepted at any store selling Autumnwood Farm milk, including the on-farm store. You will receive $2 back for every bottle returned. Please rinse and discard caps before returning bottles.

Are crates available to purchase?

Yes! Blue divided crates are available to purchase at our on farm store. There is an $8 deposit for you to take a crate.

Monday 12:00-5:00 PM

Tuesday 3:00-6:00 PM
Friday 12:00-5:00 PM
Saturday 12:00-4:00 PM

Curbside pick-up times:

1:00-3:00 PM Tuesday and Thursday

Is the on-farm store handicap accessible?

Yes! There is short trip from our gravel parking lot to our cement platform before entering our store. 

What is your dog policy?

Although we love animals, we ask that during any on-farm events that your dogs stay at home.
